The Potting Shed: 3rd February 1990

Graham Greene’s gripping drama.

I was asked to played the part of Mrs Potter who was an old lady because Dinah who was originally supposed to play the part dropped out. My dad and his lady friend Phyllis came to watch the play. My dad thought it was so boring that he went to sleep. One of the characters was Father William Callifer and I have a feeling it was a make up lady who didn’t realise that he was a character in the play and thought that as it was a Sunday afternoon that we were rehearsing that it was appropriate for a vicar to be there. We found out at a later date that it was the director’s ambition to direct the play for another dramatic society.
