Murder in the Cathedral: 17th-19th July 1997

The well known story of Becket’s murder, at the hands of three knights.

Murder in the Cathedral by TS Eliot portrays the assassination of Archbishop Thomas Becket in Canterbury Cathedral during the reign of Henry II in 1170.  TADS were fortunate enough to perform this play in our own Tewkesbury Abbey – ably assisted by Tewkesbury Choral Society.
Geoff Guy not only played an excellent Becket but also found time to coach the ladies chorus, advising how every word should be delivered. Richard Hughes coped extremely well directing the play including the frenzied finale.
I felt privileged to have taken part in such a powerful and compelling production.
