Brassed Off: 16th & 17th September 2023

TADS presented the stage play Brassed Off, based on the popular film of the same name. The production will feature Tewkesbury Town Band live onstage as part of the hilarious but moving story of a town torn apart by circumstance. Loyalties are torn, as pit closures loom, whilst band leader Danny strives to take the colliery band all the way to the Albert Hall. But who will stick by him? With dramatic parallels with current times, the play explores what really matters to folk when called upon.

Directed by the returning Paul Sawtell, in his home town.

Two Rivers Osteopathy bent over backwards to support us by letting us take over their window. This helped us to twist the public’s arms to get tickets.

‘Congratulations to all involved in this fantastic production. Truly unique experience to bring together the communities of TADS and the Town Band and display their talents so effectively at the Roses. A night to remember, thank you.‘

Audience member, Tony

‘It was truly incredible, I haven’t sobbed like that in a long time – one emotional grenade after another! (I was handling just about okay until the scene with the “monkey” then I don’t think I stopped crying after that – for one reason or another!!)’

Friend in the audience

‘Absolutely brilliant!’
