This production was a thoroughly entertaining and accessible piece of Shakespeare. The original language was maintained, but the story was transported into the 1980s, complete with punks, new romantics, nods to blockbuster movies, and excerpts from a variety of 80s’ hits.

The war is over and the 80s is in full swing. Duke Leonato is visited by Prince Pedro and his wingmen Benedick and Claudio. Claudio falls in love with the Duke\u2019s daughter Hero and their marriage is agreed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Prince’s punkish illegitimate sister contrives a malicious plot: Claudio is misled into thinking that he has witnessed Hero in a compromising situation on the night before their wedding\u2026
Will all be resolved in amongst the unfolding turmoil of 80s’ pop music?!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
