An evening of 3 One-Act Plays:
Bed and Breakfast
The Committee Meeting
Treasure Island
Bed and Breakfast
A couple running away to get married stop at a farm house Bed & Breakfast where they are joined by an other couple: a vicar and his wife on their holidays. But nothing is as it seems….
This fast-paced original one-act play showcased one of our members’ (Geoff Guy) writing talents, taking the audience on a journey along several paths of deception all under one roof. The play questioned moral values, trust and whether or not any marriage can function without deceit.
The Committee Meeting
A group of villagers meet for their committee meeting. But what is the real reason for this meeting?
This was another original play by Geoff Guy. A sense of impending doom surrounded the characters of this short play, as they tried to continue their meeting as usual despite the obvious knowledge that their end was rapidly approaching. This play raised questions about how its audience would react in a useless situation offering no escape, and ended on a substantial climax.
Treasure Island
TADS member, Brenda Read- Brown’s adaptation of this classic story used Robert Louis Stevenson’s text to bring out the themes of intrigue, duplicity and loyalty whilst maintaining pirates, treasure and the parrot!
